Tony Burton

Tony Burton, 73, of Chaffee, Mo., and formerly of Tamms, died Sunday, March 27, 2022, at 1:11 a.m. at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was the son of William and Molly Knupp Burton, who both preceded him in death. 

He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Lang, who preceded him in death in 1984.

In his spare time, Mr. Burton loved fishing and gardening. 

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Rainey and Tia (Codey) Jordan; three sons, Tony, Jr. (Lana) Burton, Tommy (Shanell) Burton and Joey Burton; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as several siblings, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Burton was preceded in death by several siblings.

A funeral service honoring the life of Tony Burton will be held Thursday, March 31, at 1 p.m., at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with Steve Pennington officiating. Interment will follow in Fayville Cemetery near Olive Branch. 

A time of visitation will be held prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
