Vera L. Colboth

Vera L. Colboth, 95, of Anna, died Friday, June 19, 2020, at Jonesboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born on Jan. 8, 1925, in Anna, the daughter of John H. and Lydia L. Trees Haire. 

She married Fred Colboth on Dec. 20, 1945. They were married for 67 years. Mr. Colboth died in 2012.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Wyatt of Anna; a son, John Arthur “Art” (Gwen) Colboth of Anna; her grandchildren, John (Susanne) Wyatt of Virginia, Jason (Jennifer Chapman) Wyatt of Cobden, Jaret (Sheri) Wyatt of Anna, Heather (Brodie) Gruver of Georgia, Nathan (Lisa) Colboth of Anna and Jamie Colboth-MacLeod of California; her great-grandchildren, Skyla Swafford, Elaina and Ethan Gruver, Landen and Jace Wyatt, Knox, Ella and Eva Colboth; one sister, Faye Eaves of Lick Creek; one sister-in-law, Nancy Haire of Elgin, and her dear friends, Doris Womick, Lloyd and Linda Semler and Scottie Semler-Hughes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; her parents; one son, Jim Colboth; one son-in-law, John Wyatt; five brothers, Jesse, Arthur, John, Lowell and Charlie Haire; and three sisters, Elizabeth Manus, Erma Blankenship and Maye Stout.

She had been a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna. She loved working outside and taking care of her flowers and plants.

Private graveside services for Vera Colboth will be held at the Anna City Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or  to Disabled American Veterans, DAV. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
