Violet Mayberry

Violet Mayberry, 86, of Anna, died Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

She was born on June 20, 1931, in Granite City, the daughter of William and Mary Hinkle Cline.

She married Carl M. Mayberry on Aug. 5, 1947, in Anna.

She loved to attend church. She was well-known for her wonderful cooking. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting and visiting with her many friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Chris) Ury of Tamms, and her son, Melvin Mayberry of Anna; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law, Floyd (Hazel) Cline, and one sister and brother-in-law, Elsie (Edsel) Jones.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, at Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Jim McLane and the Rev. Geoff Bond officiating. Interment was in Valley Mission Cemetery.
