William T. ‘Buddy’ Rouse

William T. “Buddy” Rouse, 93, of Pulaski, died at 2:09 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his residence.

He was born on March 20, 1929, in Mounds, the son of E.Y. and Birdie Brown Rouse.

Mr. Rouse was a 1948 graduate of Olive Branch School. Mr. Rouse was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. 

He owned and operated Rouse Grocery Stores in Olive Branch, Cairo and Pulaski for several years. 

He was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Olive Branch, where he served as a deacon and board member for 30-plus years. 

He was a member of Caledonia Masonic Lodge No. 47 AF & AM, a member of Order of the Eastern Star No. 587 and he was a Shriner. He also had other various achievements.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a sister, Lucille Masterson.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Rouse; daughter Sherrie (David) Malone; sister JoAnn Carter; grandchildren Jenna (Brent) Britton, Taylor (Kyle) Lacey and Aryn Malone; and great-grandchildren Kevin, Abagayle and Noah Britton and Levi Lacey.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 25, at Trinity Assembly of God Church in Olive Branch. Pastor Stephen Clardy will officiate. Interment to follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Olive Branch. 

Full military honors presented by the U.S. Marine Corps burial team and American Legion Post No. 178.
