William W. Riston Jr.

William W. Riston Jr., 65, of Tamms, and formerly of Cairo, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at 5:06 a.m.

Mr. Riston was  born on Feb. 16, 1955, in Cape Girardeau, a son of William Warren and Lodean Vines Riston Sr.  

He married Susan Flanary on Dec. 2, 1978, and she survives of Tamms.

Mr. Riston worked as a truck load operator for Bunge Corporation in Cairo for over 45 years. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Susan Riston of Tamms; his children, William Keith Riston, Renee (Richard) Deal and John Paul (Courtney) Riston, all of Tamms; five grandchildren, Joshua Hague, Chelsea Riston, Dylan Riston, William John Riston and Cody Riston; four brothers and sisters, Tom (Bonnie) Riston, Pat Ford, Marie Butler and Paul Riston, all of Tamms; and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by one brother, John Riston.

Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no services are being held.
