Wilma L. Major

Wilma L. Major, 75, of Cape Girardeau, and formerly of Anna, died Saturday, March 4, 2017, at her home.

She was born on April 5, 1941, in Coulterville, the daughter of Loren and Edith Jones Hale.

She married Elmer David Major on Oct. 25, 1957. He preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1996.

She was a custodian at Southeast Missouri State University. Her family said she will always be remembered as a fun loving person with a great sense of humor that always seemed to sparkle.

She is survived by two sons, Mark (Barb) Major and Terry (Dawn) Major; two daughters, Susan (Kenny) Brown and Karen (Danny) Jaimet; her companion, Arlie Chronister; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one brother, Allen Hale.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Jeremy Clayton officiating. Interment followed in the Anna City Cemetery in Anna.

Memorials can be made to St. Francis Hospice.
