Full Moon...by any other name...and some more stuff...
Seemed like Mother Nature tried to end our drought with a Great Big Ol’ Downpour at about the same time I was heading to The Paragraph Factory in Anna Monday morning. I believe we had about 2 inches of water in our unofficial backyard rain gauge after that deluge, which made for an interesting commute...

Darn. Bitter disappointment. Planned my whole Sunday night around seeing her. Didn’t see her. I guess that was because Taylor Swift did not go to Atlanta to see the Kansas City Chiefs play in Sunday night’s NFL game.
I did, however, catch a glimpse of Tina Turner while channel surfing Sunday night after dealing with the disappointment of not seeing Ms. Swift... Taylor and Tina are/were both singers, so I guess that’s worth something...

‘Twas the first Sunday of autumn, and along the road, not a creature was stirring, not even a toad...
...I went for a short drive in the country Sunday evening, just to see what there was to see. Or not. Didn’t see any critters. Unless you count a cow up on a hillside...
...which leads us to this week’s
Critter Sighting Updates...
White-tailed deer wandering through town. In the middle of the afternoon. Yup.
Some sort of unidentified critter making an appearance during a partial lunar eclipse. Yup. (Please see the photo...)
While we did not have a sighting of Taylor Swift, we did see...
...a white-tailed deer out for a Sunday afternoon stroll...right in town...
I decided to go for a walk at around 3 o’clock last Sunday afternoon. I thought the season had changed Sunday morning, going from the dog days of summer to the crisp and cool weather of autumn. Wrong. It still felt like July or August.
Anyway, while strolling, slowly, I happened to look across town and saw something meandering down an embankment. Turned out it was a white-tailed deer, also out for a stroll, in the bright, hot sunshine of Sunday afternoon.

Did you see the partial lunar eclipse that happened Tuesday night, September 17? It seemed like a nice birthday present for The Other Half.
The eclipse occurred during a full moon. As if a Full Moon and a partial lunar eclipse weren’t enough to experience, the science.nasa.gov website was kind enough to explain that those of us who watched the night time display in the sky also saw what was called a SuperMoon, the Corn Moon, the Harvest Moon, the Fruit or Barley Moon, the Potato Harvest Moon and the Mid-Autumn, Mooncake or Reunion Festival Moon.
Just because I like to do such things, I took lots of photos of the partial lunar eclipse. Sure, the celestial event might not have been as “spectacular” as last spring’s total solar eclipse, but it was still worth watching.
By the way...still haven’t seen that bear...the critter probably was with Taylor Swift, wherever she was...
