As readers may know, yours truly likes to take photographs with critters in them. Saw this feathered critter while motoring through my hometown on a bright and sunny afternoon during the closing days of the year now gone by...we can only hope that 2021 will Rest in Peace...Saw this gem of an arachnid creation on the final day of 2021...the web had been attached to the antenna on The World’s Ugliest Pickup Truck...This image of a special weather forecasting tool was shared somewhere in the social media universe...and then shared with The Other Half...and then shared with yours truly...

At least fish weren't falling from the sky...

Some things that made me go... hmmmmm...or, maybe...huh?

It was 72 degrees on our front porch on the afternoon of Christmas Day... A little over a week later, on the afternoon of the second day of a brand new year, it was 27 degrees...and there were flurries of snow a-falling...

Then there was...

New Year’s Day. Early in the morning. Way early in the morning. Say...about 4 o’clock way early in the morning...

...yours truly wakes up...thought I might have heard some sort of bang...not sure..

...BANG...

...or maybe BOOM...some sort of sound associated with what sounds like something exploding...

...maybe it was an electrical transformer of some sort...

...pause...

...BANG...pause...BANG...pause...BANG...

...followed by four more BANGs...and then...silence...

At some point during the early morning series of BANGs I thought I might hear sirens, which might offer at least a little bit of a hint about what could be happening. Nope. Not another sound. Not another BANG...

Then again, it was New Year’s Day. Maybe somebody was a few hours behind schedule with their Happy New Year fireworks...

Then there was...

The interesting thing I saw while motoring through the Trail of Tears State Forest at around noon time or so on the first day of 2022...

I had hit the road to see what sort of photo opportunities might be seen during a rather soggy start to the new year. We ended up with something like three and half inches of rain in our unofficial rain gauge in the backyard on January 1. We always seem to get more rain than everybody else. That would be another thing that makes me go hmmmmm....

Anyway, while motoring along the State Forest Road, I saw a vehicle up ahead. A minivan, to be more precise. The vehicle turned left...and it looked like whoever might be driving the vehicle paused...

...and then drove through water which was rushing over a concrete ford in a creek bed at the state forest...

Moments later, I stopped to shoot a photograph of the water. The brown, white and occasionally frothy water rushing through a normally rather tranquil creek bed was just a bit frightening. Why would anybody drive through that?

Then, there was...

One last thing...

While driving through town early last Sunday afternoon, I saw a young man out for a walk. Nothing unusual about that. I had gone for a walk about half an hour earlier. It was cold. Really cold. I believe the wind chill might have been something like 11 degrees...

...and there was a young man out walking...he was wearing shorts...he was not wearing a coat...go figure...

To be honest with you, I’m pretty sure all of 2021 made me go hmmmmmm...and maybe even huh? Guess it might make sense that 2022 would start the same way...

At least I didn’t see any fish falling from the sky, like they did in Texas on the last day of 2021...really...
