Parental Grief Support Group to Host Annual Memory Tree Service
Memorial Hospital of Carbondale is scheduled to host their annual I Lost A Child (ILAC) Memorial Tree Service on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 1:30 p.m. in hospital conference room C.
ILAC is a weekly support group specifically designed to offer comfort to those parents who have suffered a loss of a child. The support group hosts the annual Memorial Tree Service for any parents who has lost a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, infancy and adulthood.
"Giving bereaved families an opportunity to mark the holidays with a remembrance of their child is the defining purpose of this long-standing tradition at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Parents and other loved ones, if they would like to, may bring an ornament to place on the tree in memory of their child," said ILAC co-facilitator Angie Bowen in a news release. Ornaments will also be provided at the service.
For more information on the dedication ceremony, contact the hospital at 618-549-0721 extension 65252 or 64837.
