Pomona man faces meth charge
On Dec. 3, Jeffry M. Presutti Jr., 36, of Pomona, was indicted in a one-count indictment charging conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Stephen R. Wigginton, reported in a news release.
The offense occurred between April and October in Jackson County.
Presutti was scheduled to make his initial appearance in federal court on Dec. 9, in Benton.
The methamphetamine offense carries a penalty of up to 20 years of imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release and a fine of $1 million.
An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Murphysboro Police Department, the Union County Sheriff’s Office and Drug Enforcement Administration.
The Illinois State Police methamphetamine response team and Jackson County state’s attorney’s office assisted in the investigation.
