Rainy weather didn't put a damper on the spirits of those who came to be a part of a new holiday tradition in Union County.

The first Christmas in downtown Anna was celebrated Saturday afternoon and evening, Nov. 26.

A wide range of activities were planned for the event. Highlights included a visit by Santa Claus and the lighting of a community Christmas tree in downtown Anna.

Santa welcomed those of all ages during a visit to 326Productions along South Main Street in the heart of downtown Anna.

The accompanying pictures of Santa Claus and friends were taken by Tiffiny Dillow for The Gazette-Democrat.
