Raleigh Deleen Peeler

Graveside funeral services for Raleigh Deleen Peeler, 83, of Bonham, Texas, were 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at the Arledge Ridge Cemetery.

The Rev. Normous Free officiated. Military honors were accorded by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.  

Mr. Peeler died Friday Nov. 16, 2012, at the Seven Oaks Care Center in Bonham, Texas.

Mr. Peeler was born on May 30, 1929, in Dongola, the son of Raleigh Hugh and Marie Smoot Peeler.  

Mr. Peeler served in the U.S. Navy, receiving his honorable discharge on May 5, 1948.

He married Lillie K. Sanderson on Nov. 30, 1957, in Bonham, Texas.

Mr. Peeler was the owner/operator of a book binding company from 1953 to 2005. He was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church in Bonham.

Mr. Peeler is survived by his wife, Lillie Peeler of Bonham, Texas; sons Jeff Peeler and Randy Peeler of Bonham, Texas, and Rodney Peeler and Michael Peeler of Evansville, Ind., eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great-step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Eileen Hunt.

Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas, was in charge of arrangements.
