Rally carries A-J over Cobden 50-41
Trailing 23-22 at the end of three quarters, Anna-Jonesboro went on a 12-2 scoring run to open the final period on its way to a 50-41 win over host Cobden in nonconference high school boys’ basketball Tuesday, Dec. 8.
The run was built around a 3-pointer by Jordan Adams, his second of the game.
The Wildcats outscored Cobden 28-18 in the final frame.
The game began low-scoring as neither team scored until 3:09 had gone by in the opening quarter.
A-J, which went on top at the end of the quarter 9-5, led at halftime, 15-13.
Adams led A-J with 17 points and 3 rebounds. J.R. Woodward had 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Brady Wright added 10 points. Tylor Duckworth had 6 points and 11 rebounds.
Jesse Webb had 4 points and 2 rebounds. Travis Smith had 3 points and 2 rebounds.
Steve Draper had 15 points and 6 rebounds to lead the Appleknockers.
Robby Lehr added 13 points and 5 rebounds. Alex Sweitzer had 8 points. Allan Brumleve added 3 points and 3 rebounds. Josh Aspen had 2 points.
A-J improved to 4-1 and Cobden fell to 2-3.
