Raymond E. Mayberry

Raymond E. Mayberry, 80, of Valdosta, Ga., died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Langdale Hospice House.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1932, in Jonesboro, the son of William and Bertha Hinkle Mayberry.

He served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Dainora I. Mayberry of Valdosta, Ga.; a son, Eugene Mayberry of Portland, Ore., and a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond E. “Eddie” and Ying Mayberry of California; one daughter, Julie Mayberry of Mundelein; three sisters, Mildred Wright of Anna, Geraldine McLane of Anna and Helen Keesee of Scott City, Mo.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Shelby Mayberry of Jonesboro and Floyd and Vickie Mayberry of Jonesboro; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Mr. Mayberry was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy and Amy Mayberry; and by four brothers, Robert, Albert, William and Sherman Mayberry.

Per Raymond’s wishes, Raymond was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Valley Mission Pentecostal Church near Jonesboro, with the Rev. Mike Mayberry and the Rev. Paul Mayberry officiating.

Memorial donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
