Real, live Grinches at work

To the editor,

An open letter to the editor, friends and neighbors in our surrounding counties.

Last week's Monday's Pub. told of Dr. Seuss's children's story, "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas." Plus a $500 reward ad for a robbery in Pulaski County on Dec. 9.

Yes, folks, there are real live Grinches, thieves in other words, working our area, watching, plotting and planning to rob us, when we are the most vulnerable.

Our big building, near our home, was invaded and robbed in the early morning hours of Dec. 12.

If anyone passed over the I-57 bridge on Friendship School Road and notice a vehicle parked along the south side of the road, across from the security light at the west end of bridge, possibly looked innocent, but it was not.

If you saw it, please call the Union County Sheriff's Department immediately at 618-833-5500.

Perhaps you can stop these thieves, and prevent anyone else from enduring the losses and trauma that they cause.

Please stay aware and pray that this can be stopped, and the perpetrators brought to justice. A reward is being posted. Thank you and may your Christmas season be blessed, happy and healthy.

Sincerely, Marjorie Emery, Anna
