Robert "Eddie" Eads

Robert "Eddie" Eads, 84, of Cobden, died at 9:05 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

He was born on Feb. 12, 1929, in Little Rock, Ark., the son of Ely Mack and Lilly Warren Eads.

He is survived by his children, Donna (Jimmy) Mount of Anna, Robert Eads Jr. of Cobden, Larry Ray Eads of Cobden, Patty (Greg) Jackson of Anna, Bill (Yvonne) Eads of Cobden, Roger (Lisa) Eads of Anna and David Wayne Eads of Cobden; eight grandchildren, Lisa (Marty) Penrod, Leslie (Jack) Doublin, Erika (Josh) Wheaton, Chad (Brandy) Eads, Aaron (Joline) Eads, Jessica (Troy) Matlock, Sara (Jacob) Livesay and Matthew (Sara) Verble; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Pat) Eads of Unity Point; his children's mother, Ellen Eads of Anna; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Teresa Nadine Verble; twins James and Julie Eads; two sisters and five brothers.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cobden.

Services for Mr. Eads will be held privately.
