Roberta Eickelman

Roberta Eickelman, 78, of Dongola, died at 2:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

She was born on Dec. 12, 1930, the daughter of Jack and Marie Rogers Lawrence.

She married Harold Marquardt in 2002.

She was an avid garage sale enthusiast.

Survivors include her mother, Marie Hazelwood of Manhattan; two sons, Stephen (Yvonne) Eickelman of Dongola and Bruce (Debbie) Eickelman of Sydney, Australia; two sisters, Laneta (John) Pettit of Alton and Louise (Bob) Watson of Manhattan; two brothers, Herman (Elizabeth) Lawrence of Anna and Clifton Lawrence of Madison, Ind.; three grandchildren, Cris, Daniel and Sophie Eickelman of Sydney, Australia; her aunt and special friend, Ione Rogers of Anna; her ex-husband, Jay Eickelman of Sun City, Fla.; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Lawrence.

Funeral services were at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola with Pastor Joe Aldridge officiating.

Crain Funeral Home in Dongola was in charge of arrangements.
