Rosalie Jacobs

Rosalie Jacobs, 91, of Hurst, died on Nov. 25, 2009, at home.

She was born on Sept. 8, 1918, in Cambria, the daughter of Roy and Rebecca Cain Thetford.

She married Benny Jacobs, who preceded her in death on May 10, 1983.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Hurst.

Survivors include a son and his wife, George and Barbara Jacobs of Herrin; a granddaughter, Melissa Jason; two great-grandchildren, Braden and Jarod Simichof of Marion; three sisters, Ruth Kehoe of Chicago, Mildred Franklin of Livonia, Mich., and Ruby Patnode of Cape Coral, Fla.

She was preceded in death by sisters Nita Rapp and Eva Dingle and brother Bill Thetford and Mae Thetford.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Walker Funeral Home in Hurst. The Rev. Greg Parker officiated. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery in Herrin.

Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church in Hurst.
