Rural Health welcomes dentist to health care staff

Dr. Brittany Scanlon has joined the staff of Rural Health Inc. as a dentist at the agency’s Anna clinic.

She is originally from Brighton, which is near St. Louis.

She earned her undergraduate degree at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She continued her education at the SIU School of Dental Medicine in Alton. 

Scanlon discovered she wanted to become a dentist in high school, where she was asked to write an essay about what she wanted to be when she grew up. 

At the time, she wasn’t sure, but decided to write about becoming a dentist. Ever since then, she pursued and obtained that goal.

Moving to Southern Illinois was easy for her after school.

“I fell in love with the area,” Scanlon said.

She is currently taking new patients. She is available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
