Ruth Petty Dehart

<p class="p1">Ruth Petty Dehart, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at Garden Terrance Alzheimers Center of Excellence in Houston, Texas.</p><p class="p1">She was born on Feb. 13, 1931, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, the daughter of Elmer and Essie Petty.</p><p class="p1">On Dec. 27, 1947, she married Donald Dehart of Alto Pass, where they resided for several years. In 1956 they moved to Northern Indiana. Mr. Dehart died on April 25, 1974, but she remained a resident there for over 30 years. She became active in the Moose Lodge in 1978.</p><p class="p1">She later retired from the Duneland School Corp. in 1986 and moved to Texas.</p><p class="p1">On March 26, 1995, she married Arthur William Cushman of Indiana. They resided in Pasadena, Texas, until she was overtaken by her illness in 2013.</p><p class="p1">She is survived by her husband "Bill" and her four children, Randy Dehart, Debra Dehart, Donald Dehart and John Dehart; also, "the love of her life," granddaughter Sierra Nicole Sunshine Dehart.</p><p class="p1">She was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Dehart; her parents; and four brothers and two sisters, Louis Petty, Millard Petty, Milfred Petty, Floyd Petty, Audeen Driskill and Florence King.</p><p class="p1">In honoring her wishes, a private family celebration of life event is planned.</p><p class="p1">Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.</p>
