Season underway for A-J bowling teams

The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School boys’ and girls’ bowling teams have begun action this season.

A-J’s boys’ team had a 1-2 record in early competition.

Returning from last season’s bowling are seniors Chris Hill, Jacob Schaefer and Nick Ward and juniors Brock Goforth (who is the team captain), Jason Goodman, Derek Massey and Nathan Sadler.

Newcomers this season are seniors Michael Tripp, Braden Rider and Evan Hughey, junior Damian Reed and freshman Dale Prater.

The A-J’s girls bowling team had an 0-3 record this season.

Returning for the A-J girls’ team are senior Katie Malnar; juniors Katie Edwards, Courtney Kendrick and Kendall Carter (the team captain); and sophomores Sam Schott and Kami Hinkle.

New team members are seniors Jessica Scott and Katie McIntyre; junior Megan Heuring; sophomore Susie Hayword and freshmen Tiffany Goodman, Reagan Morrison and Syd Ray.

“This year, we have a lot of talent on the team,” said second-year head coach Craig Dillman. “We  need to keep working on our fine tuning and I am looking forward to see what this season brings.”

Assistant coach is Doug Haywood and team manager is Taylor Peterson.
