Shawnee 80, Joppa 71
Tyler Davis scored 32 points to power Shawnee to an 80-71 overtime win over visiting Joppa in South Egyptian Conference high school boys’ basketball Saturday, Jan. 16.
Kyle Griggs added 14 points, Ty McMahan 13, Tyler Spurlock 11, Kyle Stevens 6 and Andrew Livesay 4.
The game was tied 20-20 at the end of one quarter. The Rangers pulled ahead 35-33 at the half.
The Redskins trailed 46-43 after three quarters and outscored Joppa 22-19 in the final quarter for a 65-65 tie at the end of regulation play. Shawnee outscored Joppa 15-6 in the overtime.
Shawnee, which improved to 3-10 overall, was scheduled to play Meridian Wednesday in the South Egyptian Conference tournament at Century.
