Shawnee High School homecoming this week

Homecoming is being celebrated this week at Shawnee High School at Wolf Lake.

The celebration culminates with a number of special events on Saturday, Jan. 15, at the school.

At 4:30 p.m. Saturday, a hospitality room will open to welcome alumni.

The Shawnee High School Lady Reds basketball team will play Century in a 5 p.m. game.

The Shawnee boys’ basketball team is scheduled to play Dongola in a 6:30 p.m. game.

Shawnee High School graduates Diana Lambdin Meyer and Scott Tucker will be honored during intermission between the basketball games.

A cheer routine also is planned during intermission between the games.

The homecoming court will be introduced during halftime of the boys’ game.

Homecoming coronation is set for 8 p.m. A homecoming dance follows at 9 p.m.

Members of this year’s homecoming court are Ashley Craver and Coty Gustafson, Brooklyn Ellis and Aaron Lambdin, Amanda Harris and Dylan Smith, Morganne Kennedy and Ty McMahan, and Haley Law and Eric Woolard.

Special activities are planned throughout homecoming week at the school.

Tuesday was set as Retro/Tacky Twin Day. Wednesday was Opposite Gender Day.

Thursday, today, is Class Color Day. Friday is School Spirit Day.
