Shawnee posts first win
Ty McMahan scored 28 points to lead Shawnee to a 75-51 win over visiting Dongola in South Egyptian Conference high school boys’ basketball Saturday, Jan. 15. McMahan scored seven 3-pointers.
It was the first win of the season for the Redskins, who are 1-13.
Andrew Livesay added 15 points for Shawnee. Gave Shelton had 13 points, Dylan Smith 7, Aiden McMahan and Gavyn Ellet 5 each and Brandon Pind 2.
Jordan Eads had 24 points to lead the Demons. Clay Harris had 12 points, Tyler Thompson 7, Tyler Eddleman 4 and Darin Gibson and Darius Schauer 2 apiece.
The Redskins led 19-8 after one quarter and 33-25 at the half. Shawnee was ahead 52-41 going into the final period.
Dongola and Shawnee play this week in the SEC tournament at Cobden.
