Shawnee scores win at homecoming
Trailing going into the final quarter, Shawnee came on for a 66-63 win over visiting Dongola in the Redskins’ homecoming game in high school boys’ basketball Saturday, Jan. 14.
The Demons led 14-13 after one quarter. The Redskins fought back to pull ahead 31-28 at the half. Dongola built a 49-43 advantage going into the last period. But Shawnee made a 23-14 scoring in the final frame to post the come-from-behind win.
Aiden McMahan scored 19 points to lead the Redskins. Andrew Livesay and Gavyn Ellet added 17 points apiece, Austin Treece 8, Gary Pind 3 and Adam Pennington 2.
Austin Hinkle scored 24 points to lead the Demons. Jordan Eads added 23 points, Tyler Eddleman 11, Brock Patterson and Darius Schauer 2 apiece and Uriah Holmes 1.
Shawnee improved to 4-9 overall.
