SIU Theater opens auditions for spring productions
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">SIU Theater will hold auditions for its spring 2016 productions on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 21 and 22.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">“Wife/Worker/Whore” a new play by Kirsten Easton, the featured production of the 2016 Big Muddy New Play Festival, will audition Thursday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. in the C.H. Moe Theater. Segun Ojewuyi is the director. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The show performs March 31 through April 3. The auditions are open to all members of the community. Make an appointment in the theater office during regular office hours, or sign in at the audition site at 6:30 p.m.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">“Tartuffe” a rhymed couplet adaptation of Moliere’s play by Richard Wilbur will audition Friday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m. in the C.H. Moe Theater. Susan Patrick Benson is the director. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The show performs April 28 through May 1, in the McLeod Theater. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">For these auditions, actors should prepare a 1-2 minute classic comedy piece. Sonnets may be used for freshmen and community members. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Monologues can be from Shakespeare, Moliere, etc. Make an appointment in the theater office during regular office hours, or sign in at the audition site at 6:30 p.m.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">For more information, contact the Department of Theater at 618-453-5741.</span></p>
