Sonya Diane Sukowski, 80, of Anna, died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016 in the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She was born April 6, 1935 in Chicago, the daughter of Julius and Josephine (Urbanowicz) Paskauskas.

She is survived by her three children, Cheri Sukowski of Anna, Kimberly (Tim) Hartnett of Showlow, Arizona, and Craig (Rose) Sukowski of Lake Villa, Illinois; four grandchildren, Rachel (Peter) Correa, Renee Dornfeld, Sarah and Ryan Hartnett; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Fred (Helen) Skubis of Wisconsin; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was an active member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Murphysboro. After raising her family, Sonya returned to college to obtain her teaching degree. She dearly loved children, teaching them through education and worship. Sonya was well educated and loved to travel, visiting many different countries all over the world.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016 in the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall at 15285 St Rt. 127 North Murphysboro, Illinois 62952. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall in Murphysboro. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
