Blue Dolphins compete at first meet of season

The Anna Blue Dolphins swim team competed in its first meet of the 2019 season on June 8 at Herrin. 

The Herrin Invitational was an all-stroke meet. Each swimmer competed in each of the four swim strokes, including backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle and butterfly.  

Swimmers who represented the Blue Dolphins at the meeting included:

Sophie Barnhart, Callysta Borders, Katryna Borders, Sabryna Borders, Trystan Borders, Nile Chotner, Adam Clark, Jenna Clark, Megan Clark, Caprice Conder, Darcy Conder, Lydia Conder, Jordyn Davis, Isabella Hawk, Alexis Houseman, Agent Inman, Maggie Johnson, Isaiah Lieberman, Aden Lingle, Kinley Lingle, Drue Teske, John Turner and Marissa Turner.  

Eleven swimmers earned the Anna Blue Dolphins team points by placing in the top eight in their event.  

Blue Dolphins swimmer Sabryna Borders had the greatest improvement in her time (from last season) by dropping 28.11 seconds on her backstroke event. 

Blue Dolphins who placed in the top three included:

Nile Chotner, who placed in all of his events, including: 3rd place, men’s 13-14 50 freestyle. 2nd place, men’s 13-14 50 backstroke. 2nd place, men’s 13-14 50 breaststroke. 1st place, men’s 13-15 50 butterfly.

Sabryna Borders: 3rd place, women’s 6 and under 25 backstroke.

Bella Hawk: 2nd place, women’s 11-12 50 freestyle. 2nd place, women’s 11-12 50 backstroke.

Agent Inman: 2nd place, women’s 11-12 50 breaststroke.
