Cobden girls close regular season with win over Dongola
The Cobden High School girls’ basketball team closed out its regular season with a 53-23 win over visiting Dongola Thursday, Jan. 31.
Jenna Hartline had 20 points to lead the Appleknockers. Abby Remsey had 9 points, Aubrey Fisher and Katelyn Shadowens 7 apiece, Olivia Brumleve 4 and Abby Clover, Elsie Robles and Emily White 2 each.
Alyssa Flores had 12 points to lead the Lady Demons. Shaylee Lingle added 5 points, Dailee Cummins 4 and Annabelle Durham 2.
Vienna 67, Cobden 31: Visiting Cobden fell behind early and couldn’t catch up in the loss Tuesday, Jan. 29.
Hartline led the way for Cobden with 19 points. Remsey added 6 points and Fisher, Brumleve and White 2 apiece.
Cobden 56, Joppa 36: The host Appleknockers were ahead early on their way to the win Monday, Jan. 28.
Hartline had 23 points to lead Cobden. Remsey added 12 points, Fisher 11, Shadowens 6, White 3 and Clover 1.
Cobden finished the regular season with an 8-19 record. They were scheduled to play early this week in the Class 1A Elverado regional against Galatia.
