The Cobden High School boys’ basketball team split in recent action.
Steeleville 61, Cobden 59: The visiting Appleknockers were edged in overtime on Saturday, Dec. 21.
Cobden coach Wendell Wheeler said his squad lost the game at the free throw line.
Joe Brumleve had 25 points to lead Cobden. Noah Franklin added 15 points, Dylan Lewey 14, Landon Britt 4 and Alex Remsey 1.
Cobden 80, Marion Agape 49: The host Appleknockers built a big first quarter lead on their way to the win Tuesday, Dec. 17.
Brumleve had 23 points to lead the Appleknockers. Noah Franklin added 18 points, Lewey 11, Remsey 9, Juan Lopez 8, Tyler Franklin 7 and Cooper Flamm and Edwin Funes 2 apiece.
Cobden, 10-3, is scheduled to face Johnston City at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at the Sesser-Valier Tournament. The tournament concludes Monday, Dec. 30.
