Cobden softball 3-1 in recent play

The Cobden High School softball team posted a 3-1 record in recent action.

Cobden 10, Dongola 0: Meredith Flamm was 2-for-3 with 2 triples and 3 RBIs to lead the visiting Appleknockers in the South Egyptian Conference win Thursday, April 12.

Molly Ellis was 2-for-3 with a triple, double and 2 RBIs. Brooke Bailey was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Megan Rhodes was 2-for-2 with a triple. 

Lexi Miller was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Jenna Hartline was 1-for-2. Lauren Sweitzer was 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI.

Maddie Keller was 2-for-2 to lead the Lady Demons. Nicole Reed was 1-for-1. McKenzie Rowan was 1-for-2.

Ellis was the winning pitcher with a four-hitter to go with a walk and 6 strikeouts.  

Keller was the losing pitcher, allowing 11 hits to go with no walks and 3 strikeouts.

Christ Our Rock Lutheran (Centralia) 18, Cobden 15: Sweitzer was 3-for-5 with a home run, double and 2 RBIs to lead visiting Cobden in the loss Wednesday, April 11.

Ellis was 3-for-5 with a  home run and an RBI for the Appleknockers. Rhodes was 2-for-3 with a  home run and an RBI. Flamm was 2-for-5 with 2 triples and an RBI. 

Emily White was 1-for-1 with 3 RBIs. Lexi Miller was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Brooke Bailey and Jamison Cowart were each 1-for-4 with an RBI apiece. Alaina Hartline was 1-for-5 with a double.

Flamm was the losing pitcher, allowing 17 hits to go with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Cobden 19, Meridian 0: Sweitzer was 3-for-3 with a home run, triple, double and 3 RBIs to lead the host Appleknockers to the win Tuesday, April 10.

Flamm was 2-for-2 with a home run and an RBI. Alyssa Penrod was 2-for-2 with 2 doubles and  2 RBIs. Lauren Mitchell was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs. Miller was 2-for-3 with an RBI. 

Bailey was 1-for-1 with a home run and an RBI. Rhodes was 1-for-1 with a triple and an RBI. White was 1-for-1 with an RBI. Aubrey Fisher was 1-for-2 with an RBI. 

Flamm and Penrod pitched in the win. Flamm pitched an inning and didn’t allow a hit to go with no walks and 3 strikeouts. Penrod pitched 3 innings and didn’t allow a hit to go with a walk and 7 strikeouts.

Cobden 17, Agape Christian of Marion 1: Flamm was 3-for-3 with a triple to lead host Cobden to the win Monday, April 9.

Sweitzer was 3-for-4 with a triple and 2 doubles. Ellis was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. White was 2-for-2 with 2 doubles. Jenna Hartline was 2-for-4 with a triple and 3 RBIs. 

Cowart was 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs. Mitchell was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Fisher was 1-for-3. Miller was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Bailey was 1-for-4.

Ellis and Miller pitched in the win. Ellis pitched 2 innings and didn’t allow a hit to go with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Miller pitched 3 innings and didn’t allow a hit to go with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts.

Cobden, 4-4, is scheduled to play Thursday, today, at home against Anna-Jonesboro and at home Friday against Hardin County.
