Disc golf tournament set at new Cobden course
Cobden is the home of a new disc golf course.
A ribbon cutting for the new course is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
The course is located in the Cobden Community Park area and already has proven to be quite popular.
Also on Oct. 26, a random draw, 18-hole doubles disc golf tournament is planned.
Registration is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on the day of the tournament.
The tournament will have only 36 spots.
Early registration also is possible. Information about early registration is available by contacting John Wingate at 618-697-2479. (Leave a message if there is no answer.)
The cost is $25 per player. Each player will receive a custom-stamped Innova disc.
Teams will be drawn at random after the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Both members of the winning team will receive an MVP Blackhole Precision portable disc golf basket.
All funds which are raised at the event will help to support the Cobden disc golf course.
