Dongola softball scores four wins in recent action

Despite several games postponed because of rain, the Dongola High School softball team has been able to play.

Century 5, Dongola 4: Annabelle Durham was 2-for-3 to lead host Dongola in the loss Thursday, April 11.

Brooklyn Hogue was 2-for-4. Megan Theis was 1-for-2.

Maddie Keller was the losing pitcher, scattering 4 hits to go with no walks and 4 strikeouts.

Dongola 21, Cairo 0: Keller fired a one-hitter in the win for the host Lady Demons Wednesday, April 10. She had no walks and 5 strikeouts.

Hogue led the hitting by going 3-for-4 at the plate. Keller and Theis were each 2-for-3.

Dongola 24, Meridian 3: Keller was 5-for-5 to lead visiting Dongola to the win Tuesday, April 9. Hogue and Theis were each 4-for-4.

Keller pitched and allowed 2 hits to go with no walks and 6 strikeouts.

Dongola 16, Egyptian 6: Durham was 4-for-4 to lead visiting Dongola to the  win on Monday, April 8.

Magali Zavala was 3-for-4 and Keller was 3-for-5.

Keller gave up 6 hits to go with no walks and 7 strikeouts.

Crab Orchard 4, Dongola 3: Keller was the losing pitcher, allowing 4 hits to go with no walks and 3 strikeouts Thursday, April 4.

Keller was 4-for-4. Jamie Anderson was 2-for-2. Hogue and Dailee Cummins were each 1-for-5.

Dongola 5, Marion Agape (Christian) 0: Keller and Theis were each 2-for-3 with a double apiece to lead host Dongola to the win Tuesday, March 26.

Hogue and Nicole Reed were each 2-for-3. Zavala was 1-for-3.

Keller gave up 2 hits to go with a walk and 12 strikeouts.

Dongola, 5-9, is scheduled to play Thursday, today, at home against Cobden in a game that was postponed earlier because of a wet field.
