A-J boys’ track returns key athletes
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School boys’ track team doesn’t have a big squad, but returns a strong nucleus from last season.
“We don’t have a lot of numbers, but we return a lot from last year,” A-J track coach Michael Eudy said.
Two of the top athletes from last season Eudy plans on building a competitive team around are senior sprinter Jaryt Tripp and junior shot put/discus thrower Noah Craig.
Another senior in the mix is distance runner Nolen Knupp.
Juniors Eudy will be counting on are a trio of sprinters in Kyle McMahan, Gavin Tripp and Zach Griffin, along with distance runners Chris Johnson, Bryce Massey and Patrick Gibbs.
Sophomores expected to contribute are distance runners Michael Brimm, Jake Roach and Zach Overstreet.
A-J opened its season earlier this week at Massac County and competes Saturday in the Benton Spring Fling.
