A-J girls' track team wins Massac Meet
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School girls’ track team won the Massac County Meet with a score of 81 on Saturday, March 30.
Carterville was second at the 9-team meet with 76 points.
First place efforts for the Lady Wildcats were recorded by:
Anna Hess in the shot put with a 33-2.5 effort; Addison Oman in the triple jump with 29-11.5 jump and the 100-meter hurdles in 17.7.
Addi Denny in the 300-meter hurdles in 54.4; Amiyah Hart in the 200-meter dash in 29.4l.
The 4x800-meter relay team of Hart, Osman, Julia Lasley and Kristen Edmonds in 54.3.
The 4x200-meter relay team of Brayden Fitzgerald-Deener, Edmonds, Lasley and Angel Helm in 1:58.7.
Second place efforts were recorded by:
Denny in the 100-meter hurdles in 18.4; Carsen Clements in the 300-meter hurdles in 57.5.
Lasley in the 200-meter dash in 29.8; the 4x400-meter relay team of Fitzgerald-Deener, Edmonds, Jade Marks and Helm in 4:37.
The 4x800-meter relay team of Olivia Bowen, Sedona Isaacs, Clohie Powell and Sydnie Ralls in 12:28.
Third place efforts were posted by Hess in the discus with a 79-7 effort and Abbie Sartin in the 100-meter hurdles in 21.7.
A 5th place finish in the high jump was recorded by Clements with a 4-8 effort.
