Lady Wildcats record 16th victory of season
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School girls’ basketball team posted a 2-1 record in action last week.
A-J 39, Hamilton County 26: The Lady Wildcats came on in the second quarter on their way to the win at the Sally Niemeyer Classic at Benton Saturday, Jan. 18.
Trailing 11-10 after one quarter, A-J fought back to pull ahead 23-14 at the half and 30-20 after three periods.
Kristin Edmonds led the way for A-J with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists and a block.
Anna Hess had 8 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 assists. Raegan Cruse had 8 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals.
Mikayla Bundren had 7 points, 2 steals, a rebound, a block and an assist. Addison Denny had 4 points, 7 rebounds, an assist and a block.
A-J 44, Herrin 25: The host Lady Wildcats pulled ahead early on their way to the win Thursday, Jan. 17.
Edmonds had 11 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 assists to lead A-J.
Bundren had 9 points, 5 assists, 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Hess had 9 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.
Sydnie Ralls had 7 points and 2 rebounds. Cruse had 4 points, 2 assists, a rebound and a steal. Addison Denny had 4 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.
Nashville 43, A-J 30: The host Lady Wildcats couldn’t hold a first quarter lead in the Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference Mississippi Division loss Monday, Jan. 13.
Bundren had 8 points, a rebound and an assist to lead the Lady Wildcats.
Ralls had 7 points and 3 rebounds. Cruse had 7 points, 2 rebounds and an assist. Addison Denny had 4 points, 5 rebounds and an assist.
Edmonds had 4 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and a steal. Hess had 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
A-J, 16-9 overall and 2-4 in the conference, is scheduled to play Thursday, today, at Benton.
