Lady Wildcats score wins over Massac, Du Quoin
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School girls’ basketball team was 2-1 in recent action.
A-J 42, Massac County 34: The visiting Lady Wildcats were 19 of 22 from the free throw line on their way to the win Saturday, Dec. 21.
Kristin Edmonds had 13 points, 5 rebounds and an assist to lead A-J.
Mikayla Bundren had 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Raegan Cruse had 5 points, 2 steals, a rebound and an assist.
Addison Denny had 5 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Anna Hess had 4 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and an assist.
Petey Foster had 2 points and 2 rebounds. Brodie Denny had 2 rebounds and a steal. Campbell Belcher had a rebound.
A-J 47, Du Quoin 30: The host Lady Wildcats took an early lead on their way to the win Thursday, Dec. 19.
Hess had 14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists to lead A-J.
Edmonds had 13 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bundren had 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a block.
Cruse had 5 points, 2 steals, a rebound and an assist. Addison Denny had 2 points and 3 rebounds. Sydnie Ralls had 2 assists, a rebound and a steal.
Pinckneyville 49, A-J 44: The host Lady Panthers pulled ahead early on their way to the win Tuesday, Dec. 17.
Edmonds had 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals to lead the Lady Wildcats.
Cruse had 7 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and a block. Bundren had 7 points, 2 rebounds, an assist and a block.
Addison Denny had 5 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Hess had 5 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists. Ralls had 3 points, 3 rebounds and a block.
A-J is scheduled to play against Salem on Friday, Dec. 27, at the Rangerette Classic in Benton. The tournament concludes Monday, Dec. 30.
