Three A-J wrestlers win regional titles

Three Anna-Jonesboro Community High School wrestlers won first place at the Class 1A regional at Carterville Saturday, Feb. 8.

The three A-J wrestlers who earned regional titles included:

Arojae Hart, 120 pounds; Blake Mays, 126 pounds; and Barry Johnson, 152 pounds.

Second-place finishers for A-J were Caleb Mays, 126 pounds; and T.J. Macy, 138 pounds.

A third-place finish for the Wildcats was recorded by Bryce Lingle, 160 pounds.

The top three wrestlers in each class advance to the Class 1A sectional, which is scheduled this weekend in Vandalia.

As a team, A-J scored 131.0 points. Benton won the regional title with 260.0 points. Eleven teams competed at the regional.
