Union County Country Club hosts free junior golf program
Nearly 100 young people participated in a junior golf program presented at the Union County Country Club in Anna.
The free program was scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, June 11-13, and Monday, June 17.
The program concluded with a golf scramble and party on Monday at the country club.
Union County Country Club PGA professional Brandon Bierstedt taught the program with help from Matt Lang and Davin Hannuksela.
Sessions were offered for young golfers in three age groups: 7 to 9, 10 to 12 and 13 to 15. Girls and boys participated in the program.
During the program, students learned about golf etiquette, course management, rules of the game.
Those who completed the program with perfect attendance earned a free youth golf membership at the country club.
Bierstedt voiced appreciation to McDonald’s in Anna for donating food during the camp.
He also voiced appreciation to all of those who brought young golfers to the program.
