Wildcats' Hart, Kisat wrestle at state tourney
Anna-Jonesboro Community High School wrestlers Arojae Hart and Nate Kisat were in action at the Illinois High School Association Class 1A state wrestling tournament last weekend in Champaign.
Hart, who finished 26-7 overall in the 106-pound weight class, decisioned LeRoy’s Ethan Matlock, 10-5, in first round action at state.
Hart then lost his next two matches in a 3-1 decision in overtime to Chicago Hope’s Giovanny Amira and was eliminated in the quarterfinals by a 6-4 decision to Belleville Althoff’s Shawn Minick.
A-J’s Nate Kisat, who finished 20-6 overall in the 145-pound class, lost in first round action 11-2 to LeRoy’s Carson Schaefer and then 16-12 in overtime in a wrestle back to Prairie Central’s Carbin Moser.
“Both had great seasons,” A-J coach Eric Massey said. “Both of them were injured during the regular season, but still made it through sectionals.”
The A-J wrestling team, which won its own Class 1A regional earlier, advanced to the Class 1A sectional earlier this week to take on host Vandalia.
