Wildcats set to welcome Massac County Friday for White Out Game

Friday night’s match up will be A-J’s annual Whiteout Game in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Hadley’s Haven.

The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School football team hosts Massac County this Friday, Sept. 13.

Friday night’s match up will be A-J’s annual Whiteout Game in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Hadley’s Haven. 

Game time is set to begin at 7 p.m. at The Pit. The game will be aired on WIBH radio in Anna.

Both teams enter the game with 0-2 record. The Patriots lost 83-34 to Nashville this past weekend.

“Massac County had three, 70-yard touchdown runs,” A-J head football coach Brett Detering said after viewing the game film. “They gave up a lot of points, but they have big play capabilities.”

Running in the backfield for Massac County are seniors David Thompson and Dawson Troutman, and junior Devin Scott.

Quarterbacking Massac County is senior Bruce Neill.

Some of the top offensive linemen are seniors Lance Reed and Mason Search and junior Austin Perjenski.

Some key defensive players are seniors Blake Baird and Preston Meadows and juniors Daylon Jackson and Elijah Farmer.

“It’s a tough match up,” Detering said. “Hopefully,   we can stay away from giving up the big play and our kids are ready to play.”
