Teddy Earnhart, mayor of Dongola, dies Tuesday
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Teddy L. Earnhart, 67 of Dongola, died on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at 4:05PM at his home.</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">He was born on March 14, 1944 in Anna, the son of Lynn and Glenda (Fisher) Earnhart. <span style=""> </span>He married Shirley Hart on March 19, 1966.<span style=""> </span> She survives him.</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Teddy was the owner/operator of Earnhart Excavating, now a 3<sup>rd</sup> generation business in Dongola, he also worked at Southern Illinois Coop for 27 years as a mechanic.<span style=""> </span> He was a member of the Operators Local 181 and IBEW 702.<span style=""> </span> He served 24 years on the Dongola Village Board, 21 of those as mayor, serving up until his death.<span style=""> </span></span></strong></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">He is survived by his wife, Shirley; 1 son, Greg Earnhart of Dongola;</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">1 aunt, Louise Earnhart of Columbia; 2 sisters-in-law, Melanie Terbrak and family and Nancy Davis and family; Cousins, Mike Earnhart and family, Kenny Earnhart and family, Bob Kraatz and family, Joe Kraatz and family, Dann Kraatz and family, Darlene and family, Dolores and family, Howard Theis and family, Mary Louise and family and Carol Frances and family; So many great friends-locally and all over the state including Tom and Janie Peterson and David Osman.</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">He is preceded in death by his parents.</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 4-8PM at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.</span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11AM at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola with Rev. Travis Peterson officiating.<span style=""> </span> Interment will follow in American Legion Cemetery.</span></strong></p>
