Thanksgiving celebrated this week

Union County residents will be joining in the celebration of the Thanksgiving Day holiday this week.
Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 26.
In observance of the holiday, schools will have a long weekend.
Local government offices will be closed for the holiday.
The Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro, as well as Anna and Jonesboro city halls and the village hall in Cobden, are scheduled to be closed Thursday and Friday.
There is no regular mail delivery on Thanksgiving Day.
Local financial institutions will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
All Illinois Secretary of State offices and facilities will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26-27.
