Three fail to register

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds and Union County Sheriff David Livesay reported Tuesday that three men had been charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

The men were cited following a sex offender compliance check which was conducted by the sheriff’s office.

The three men were identified as:

Scott E. Peterman, 40, of 219 W. Hickory St., Cobden. Peterman was charged with one count of failure to register as a sex offender. The charge is a Class 3 felony.

Brandon S. Jensen, 19, of 170 Miller Ln., Anna. Miller was cited with two counts of failure to register as a sex offender.

David E. Etherton, 46, of 45 Cates Ln., Anna. Etherton was charged with one count of failure to register as a sex offender.

Under Illinois law, a sex offender must register any email address, Facebook account or any other online identity with local law enforcement.
