Union County Farm Bureau invites students to apply for scholarship

The Union County Farm Bureau offers a monetary scholarship for students who are pursuing an agricultural field of study.

Preference will be given to graduating seniors.

The scholarship will be paid prior to the start of the fall 2013 semester.

The Union County Farm Bureau will have a minimum of $800 available, which may be divided into four scholarships.

If fewer than four applications are received, the funds will be divided at the discretion of the Farm Bureau board.

Applicants must submit the following items:

A completed scholarship application.

An official transcript of high school and/or college grades.

A letter indicating why the student needs the scholarship.

A letter indicating the students' interest and goals in agriculture.

A senior picture for use in paper.

Scholarship applications can be picked up at all high schools in the county from FFA advisors or guidance counselors.

Applications and a full list of instructions can be emailed; send the request to unionmgr@frontier.com.

Information also is available at the Union County Farm Bureau office, which is located at 104 W. Broad St. in Jonesboro. For more information, call 833-2125.
