Wayne Dusch

He was born May 8, 1927, in Dawson Springs, Ky., the son of Wayne and Alice D. Crider Dusch.

He married Nancy L. Heidewald on Sept. 3, 1949 in Peoria.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Nancy of Peoria; seven children, Laura (Steve) Biegler, Linda (William) Johanson, Lea Ann (Phil) Zerwer, William Dusch, Robert (Lisa) Dusch, James (Christy) Dusch and Joseph (Julie) Dusch; 22 grandchildren, Amy Biegler, Neil (Heather) Biegler, Erica (Christian) Ramazzini, Tyler Johanson, Angela (Dennis) Sharum, Nathan Zerwer, Jennifer (Steve) Dando, Rachel Zerwer, Hanna, Abby, Keely, Connor, Leah, Holly, Audrey, Josie, Samuel, Greyson, Jessica, Katie, Derek and Josh Dusch; five great-grandchildren, Nyah, Nadia and Isaac Biegler, Regan and McKinley Sharum; one sister, Katherine (Joe) Boyd; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Wayne grew up in Anna, and was a graduate of the Anna-Jonesboro Community High School. He served his country in the Navy as a veteran of World War II and Korea.

Wayne attended Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria. He was a barber for over 60 years, operating Bob’s Barbershop on Farmington Road for many years. He worked for over 20 years as a welder for Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1992. Wayne was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to barbecue.

Services for Wayne Dusch were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria with Rev. Matt Morgan officiating. Interment was in the Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to OSF Hospice of Bethany Baptist Church.
