W.C. ‘Bill’ Meggs Jr.

W.C. ‘Bill’ Meggs Jr., 62, of McClure, died at 10:27 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 26, 1948, in Wynne, Ark., to William and Zella (Robertson) Meggs.

He married Diana Williams in Nov. 2005. She preceded him in death July 16, 2010.

Bill was a member of the Rock Springs Free Will Baptist Church of Thebes.

He is survived by two brothers, Ted Meggs of Thebes and Anthony Wayne (Sue) Meggs of Wickliffe, Ky.; four sisters, Brenda (Stan) Turner of Millersville, Mo., Rosemary Insera of Cape Girardeau, Imogene (Rick) Snell of Carbondale and Lenora (Don) Lovell of Metropolis; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and five brothers, Bob, Jesse, Johnnie, Billie-Joe and James.

Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms with Bishop Jerry Whitaker officiating. Interment was in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Rock Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
