Wildcat baseball team goes 2-2 in recent play

The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School baseball team posted a 2-2 record in recent action.

Marion 12, A-J 0: Bryce Osman was 1-for-2 with a double to lead the host Wildcats in the non-conference loss Saturday, April 15.

Jake Wright and Sean Plott were each 1-for-2. Conner Jerolds and Hunter Ralls were both 1-for-3.

Ralls, Kyle Clover, Ross Pinnon, Kylen Grant and Wyatt Johnston pitched in the loss, combining to scatter 9 hits to go with 5 walks and 7 strikeouts.

Nashville 11, A-J 1: The visiting Wildcats were limited to a pair of hits in the Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference Mississippi Division loss Friday, April 14.

Damian Chrisp and Osman were each 1-for-3 for the only hits for A-J.

Osman and Sean Plott pitched in the loss. Osman pitched 3 innings and allowed 7 hits to go with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Plott pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed 4 hits to go with no walks or strikeouts.

A-J 13, Sparta 1: Osman was 3-for-4 with a triple and 2 RBIs to lead the host Wildcats to the win Tuesday, April 11.

Jerolds was 2-for-3 with a triple, 2 RBIs and a stolen base. Chrisp was 1-for-1 with an RBI. Plott was 1-for-2 with a triple and 2 RBIs. Wright and Johnston were each 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI apiece.

Chrisp and Grant pitched in the win. Chrisp pitched 3 innings and allowed a hit to go with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Grant pitched 2 innings and allowed 2 hits to go with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.

 A-J 3, Du Quoin 0:

Pitchers Ralls and Osman combined on a four-hitter to lead Anna-Jonesboro to a 3-0 win over host Du Quoin in conference action Monday, April 10.

Ralls pitched 6 innings and allowed four hits to go with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts. Osman pitched the final inning and recorded three strikeouts.

Ralls was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead the hitting. Wright was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Pinnon  and Jerolds were both 1-for-3. Plott, Carson Reynolds and Johnston were each 1-for-4. Osman had an RBI and Dalton Goddard had a stolen base.

A-J, 7-4, is scheduled to play Thursday, today, at home against Du Quoin.
