William A. Carnell

William A. Carnell, 58, of East Peoria, passed away Nov. 30, 2010, at OSF St. Francis Hospital, in the presence of his family.

Mr. Carnell was born Feb. 1, 1952, in Anna, to William C. and Leona (McHughes) Carnell.

He married Rosemary Lantz Dec. 19, 1974, in East Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Leona Carnell Mount; a son, Daryl (Laura) Carnell of Henry; a daughter, Michelle (Kevin) Cluney of Washington, Ill.; five grandchildren, Zachary Carnell, Tyler Carnell and Natalie Ballor, Steve Trainor and Jackie Trainor; sisters Patricia (Sean) Kipping of Mt. Vernon,  Brooksie (Michael) Mathis of Danville, Ind., and Paula (Lyn) Crabtree of Anna;  two stepbrothers, Jim (Donna) Mount of Anna and John (Leslie) Mount of Anna; and several nieces and nephews.

William was a machinist at Caterpillar and a member of UAW Local 974. He enjoyed fishing, and was a member of the Pekin Bowling Association.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria at 9:30 a.m., with interment in Fondulac Cemetery. Pastor Tony Foeller officiated.

Memorials may be made to the Heart of Illinois Downs Syndrome Association.
