William E. “Bill” Rumfelt

<strong>Mr. William E. “Bill” Rumfelt, 96, of Anna, passed away at 12:28 P.M., Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Anna.   He was born January 7, 1916 in Wolf Lake, the son of William Perry and Fulvia Freeman Rumfelt.  He married Mabel G. Harris on February 15, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri.  She preceded him in death on February 19, 2006.</strong>

<strong>            Bill was survived by one son, Edward (Helen) Rumfelt of Dongola; six grandchildren, Rachel Rumfelt, Sheena Lovelace, Edward Rumfelt II, Lydia Robertson, Shawnna Franklin, and Derek Goolsby; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mabel Rumfelt; 3 brothers; and 3 sisters.</strong>

<strong>            Bill was a member of the Galilee Baptist Church.  He was U.S. Navy Seabee veteran of WWII .  He was a member and past commander of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna; a member of the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge #111 AF&AM; a past Master of the Grand Tower Masonic Lodge; a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Southern Illinois; and a member of the Ainad Shrine Temple in Southern Illinois.  His main occupation was farming but he was also a school bus driver for Shawnee Community Unit District #84; he retired from bus driving duties in 1978.</strong>

<strong>Funeral services for Mr. William E. “Bill” Rumfelt will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with the Rev. John Cripps officiating.  Interment will be in the Walker Hill Cemetery at Grand Tower with full military honors by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois National Guard Honors Team of Marion.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.  Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening by the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge #111 AF&AM.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Illinois Veteran’s Home.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.</strong>
